I bought it for myself, my parents, and a friend who is a beginning paddler. Rating: - Just what I neededAbout 4 years ago I decided I wanted to take up kayaking, so I bought a copy of this illustrated book, then bought a kayak and I've been paddling weekly ever since (except the Winter). Can you learn from a book? I did. No lessons. Might they have been helpful? Sure, but I have to say that this guide tells a lot and gave me the confidence to go for it. It's also very funny.
