 Rating:  - very goodi have never read this author before. really ejoyed reading and did not want to put down..good to the very end. Rating: - Another great taleClassic Dorothea Benton Frank!.. Excellent story line, welldefined characters, pathos and humor. If you don't know her, this would be an excellent introduction to Frank's work. Rating:  - Not her best and the political mentions are a turn offI liked her other books better and then she started throwing political stuff in. I really hate when an author feels that she should become my political advisor. Rating:  - Not the best book by this authorI was very excited to get this book when it came out since I am a big fan of Dot Benton Frank's work. While this story does invoke the beautiful images of South Carolina coastal life - the charm of many of Dot's other books is missing. I could not wrap myself around much of the reasons behind the plot of the young southern girl fleeing her home town and everyone she loved. It seemed rather two dimensional to me. It also seemed far fetched that the secret she left town with would not have been ... Read More Rating: - Bulls IslandI have read all of Dorothea Benton Frank's novels. I am a fan because she always accurately includes the history and local color of the Low Country. While this was not my favorite, I enjoyed reading it while vacationing on Isle of Palms. |
