![]() Rating: - This book is not at all as clean as the movie "Straight from the Heart"I absolutely loved the movie "Straight from the Heart," so I decided to track down the book on which the movie was based. The book GREATLY disappointed me in its use of more than a few swearwords and in its gratuitous description of premarital sex. (I had to skip over about half of a chapter at one point.) The plot of the book and that of the movie were close, but the movie greatly cleaned up the language and the extramarital sex references which abounded in the book. My recommendation: ... Rating: - Just as good as the movieI'll admit, I'm one of those people that see the movie first, then read the book. Although this book was published in 1996, the movie adaptation was not made until 2003, shown on the Hallmark Channel. It starred Teri Polo and Andrew McCarthy in the lead roles. I have always been a true romantic at heart and ever since I saw the movie last month I've wanted to read the book. Finding such an old book was hard but I am thoroughly glad I did.
