Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - experience the true horror
This book is very well-written. I read this book in 8th grade and many times after that. When you read this book you feel like as if your experienceing the struggle. A very good book.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Not Moving
Although my favorite genre is historical fiction, this book just didn't do it for me. I wasn't greatly moved and I didn't feel really sad or compassionate. This novel is short and sweet, informative, not boring, and well put together. The only thing is that it doesn't make you feel the way the characters do, or change your perspective on things. Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Intense, but entertaining
As a kid reading this book, I was overwhelmed. It was entertaining, dramatic. I was overcome and learned religious tolerance, compassion, and other great emotions for a child to learn. Incredible introduction to WWII/Holocaust.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - An Enjoyable Book
While the book is mostly fiction, it is based on historic events, and whether you like to read about this period in history, or just enjoy short stories, this is a fun book to read. It's not the most exciting book on the subject out there, but the story is easy to follow and the characters are relatively well developed.

I especially enjoyed the authors' afterword, where she explains which parts of the story were fact and fiction, as it helps the reader consider the events and historical ... Read More
